WM 2003 SE bugs:

Hello! I have some problems with wm2003se


25.04.06 - Did not wake me up this morning. Did not respond to power button 
or reset button. I attached the charger dongle and pressed reset and got 
"Memory error detected presd contacts button to correct." Booted fine and 
I’m writing this on it. Battery said 74% so I disconnected the charger. Then 
got message battery critically low (aha!).

- it did not properly enter sleep mode last night.

- lately I have waited two seconds after last input and made sure nothing 
is working before pressing the off/sleep button but probably to no avail.


21.04.06 -Woke me up this morning with a message Cannot excecute repllog.exe


19.04.06 - Turned it on and got that memory error press contact button to fix. 
Unit started up and I got battery critically low. I guess the unit didn't 
properly enter sleep mode.


18.04.06 - I noticed it was hot and it wouldn't turn on. A reset and it only 
had 50% charge left. I remember I let it auto-shut down (sleep) earlier aha!. 
It hangs with a dead loop that sucks power?


12.04.06 - later today I turned it on, but got message "memory error detect, 
press contact button to fix/boot" don’t remember. It then said battery 
critically low, shutting down in 10s. Doesn't this thing enter sleep mode 
properly???


12.04.06 - didn't turn on this morning. Don't know why. Did a reset and it 
seems fine, battery capacity 38% ok. I've let it shut down auto lately.


11.04.06 - less problems when I let it "rest" a few seconds befor turn it off?


30.03.06 - cannot execute repllog.exe (pr was it notllog.exe? Nah). Did wake 
me up though.


29.03.06 - Woke me up 5 in the morning and said battery critically low - 
shutting down. It turned itself off, then on again and said batter critically 
low - shutting down. Then again and again. I did turn it off the evening 
before and it had plenty battery power.


27.02.06 - Turned it on to check the time, t screen where all black diagonal 
stripes on white. Turned it off/on, icons have black/white patterns, some 
white noisey stuff. whill this thing wake me up tomorrow? Soft reset - ok


22.02.06 - start-menu corruption; animates from bottom, duplicate items and 
items with trailing ... Even though they are not long. It wasn’t the bigger 
capacity batt then. (going into settings - menus - uncheck one item - ok fixes 
the problem.


17.02.06 - wouldn't turn on even though there where 13% battery power left. 
Feature or bug? Used reset to turn it on.


17.02.06 - it was off but green led flashing and power was at 40%. I had just 
charged it


15.02.06 - didn’t wake up and alert about Vask, maybe a complete wipe and 
install would do


!! Could it be bad battery ??

(no, same thing with bundled 1100mah pack)


- sometimes solitare seem to step a few games back after a while. Vegas mode.


- when opening files in File Explorer they are pastet to Internet Explorer 
wrong. file/:/ instead of file:// . Could be because of DAVA2003 imageviewer.


- Occasionally I can’t view or edit notes in a calendar entry. A reset fixes 
it.


- Green wlan blinks after unit automatically entered sleep mode. Needed a 
reset to wake up


- Occasionally I can’t edit notes (same as above)


- Occasionally the Start Menu animates in from the bottom and has two units 
of "Today" and some units have "..." trailing even though the aren’t long. 
This occurs along with:


- The Switcher Bar takes 15s to react when this problem occurs. I was also 
charging the unit at the time. 


- Magic Button today plugin takes 15s to react but start menu isn't garbled 
like above.


- Calendar doesn't remember the day I leave it on when closing it. A reset 
fixes the problem.


- Alarm clock didn't engage once and I overslept. Happened again this morning.
Maybe its becsuse I didn’t turn it on after a charge.


- One time it wouldn't power on. I took out the battery and put it in 5min 
later and got an message saying: memory error detected, press button to 
attempt boot. After this there is no response delay with Magic Button.


- One time the backspace and delete button on the on-screen keyboard didn’t 
work. The other buttons where fine. Strange. 


- after a reset I get 10MB extra free memory even though no ptograms where 
running (Running Programs list was empty). Is it a memory leak?


- after exiting Pictures I have 1mb free storage and 1mb free memory. Rediculous.


- suddenly Switcher Bar doesn’t see any open programs. Happens when I use it to 
close/exit a program. Programs come back in the list if I tap the Switcher Bar 
icon a few times. And then its empty again. Closing/starting the Switcher Bar 
doesn't help. A reset fixed it.


- 12.02.06

unit was warm. Had been off for 4 hours. Didn’t turn on, I took out the battery 
and it was hot (!). Put it in, reset the unit and got "memory error" pressed 
contacts button to boot, and got battery empty warning.

Bad battery? Switching to 1100mah battery that came with unit


01.03.06 - Update 

Same problems, no changes with 1100mah pack.

I’m against Microsoft and their monopoly and closed standards but they have a very 
user-friendly GUI.


Please stop, it's unnessesary and impractical

I want it to be pretty but this is too slow.


Why is there so many empty folders around


Why doesn't Pictures read .png and .gif files (bug after installing 


Why doesn't it put notes and docs in My Documents.


Why can't I check outlook email on PDA "stand-alone"


File Explorer is half-smart as it doesn't have stripey background bloat.


Notes takes 8 seconds to save a modified file! Word is faster then notes. Size does 
not matter (aha?)


Excel use 10 seconds to save a modified file!


Temp directory with a contact entry in root


Windows media player playlist system 


Rename/move file also takes 8 seconds, whyyyy
